Traveling is a lot about making memories, don’t you agree? Well, lots of memories were made when I took my two grown (but not yet old enough to drink legally in the US) kids to Grand Cayman (where they were old enough to drink legally.) The absolute best thing about our resort was that it is home to Billy Bones Pool Bar, which features a swim up bar – my daughter’s vacation requirement – and two beautiful, amazing women behind the bar – probably my son’s vacation requirement, unspoken!
Natasha Casebolt and Christina Ravdas were positively outstanding, making us feel like family from the word go. In fact, Christina had only been on the job at Billy Bones for a week when we blew in…she said we were her first favorites. Awwww shucks, Christina! She actually took time after work to join us at her recommended hot spots around Grand Cayman, from bars to restaurants to beaches. She danced the night away with us on our last evening. Natasha had as much fun introducing my kids to new fangled drinks as they had trying them. Her ready smile and attentive service made us feel like VIPs, plus the fact she would hang out at the pool in her off time giving us a chance to call her friend too.
These two gorgeous women are a huge part of the amazing memories made on that first family trip since I divorced. Needless to say, we are all Facebook friends – they are a big reason we three want to head back the the Caribbean and Billy Bones Pool Bar as soon as possible.
Next time, however, I doubt we would ever leave!
Specific people along the way have made my travels memorable. They may have been helpful beyond expectation, or they may have just been inspiring for who they are. This section of the site is dedicated to those people.
